The American flag at a high school in Southwest Utah was found destroyed and replaced with an ISIS flag on Thursday. According to the police an unknown person has taken down the flag at Hurricane High School, which is in the Washington County School District, and replaced it with “what looked like a flag used by ISIS,”
Early this morning someone vandalized HHS, the suspect(s) took down the American flag and replaced with an ISIS flag and spray painted "ISIS is comi" on one wall of the school. Officers are investigating the incident.
The SRO at HHS will be at the school to ensure students safety as always. While flying the ISIS flag, the American Flag was left shredded on the scene and The words “ISIS is COMI” had been spray-painted on a wall on the school’s east side.
Following this incidence, the Hurricane Police sent additional officers to the school Thursday to reassure students and faculty of their safety. Classes resumed normally on Thursday and will reportedly continue through Friday.
